Automating Webinar Reminders
Most of what happens between registration and the live date is... nothing. Reminders are the part of automation with the most immediate effect on attendance, and they're quick to set up.

A timing sequence that holds up
| Timing | Channel | Content |
|---|---|---|
| Immediately after registration | Confirmation, date, access link | |
| 24 hours before | Reminder + what the attendee will take away | |
| 1 hour before | Short, just the time and link | |
| 15 minutes before | Email/WhatsApp | One sentence + link |
For just-in-time sessions, this timeline compresses: instead of 24 hours, you often only have a short window — so the confirmation with a working link matters most.
What belongs in every message
- Date, time, and time zone spelled out clearly
- A single, prominent access link
- One sentence on the value, not a repeat of the whole registration page
- A one-click way to unsubscribe
Combining email and WhatsApp
In Sellora, email sending runs through your own Resend account; WhatsApp reminders run optionally through the Meta Cloud API and require a separate opt-in. Without that opt-in, the channel stays inactive for that contact.
Check deliverability: verify your sending domain, send test emails to multiple providers, and avoid sensationalist character strings in subject lines.
Frequently asked questions
- Are three reminders too many?
- Rarely, as long as they're short and the appointment stays clear. It becomes a problem when several messages arrive in the same time window across different channels.
- What should I do about a low open rate?
- First check technical causes (domain authentication, spam classification), then subject lines. It's often not the copy.
